MEET GERALD
He is 37 years old and happily married to his beautiful wife
Margaret. Together they have 3 lovely children between the ages of 2 and 8: Beatrice, Nicholas and Edda, whom Gerald loves
to spend time with. They live in North Rustica, where he works
as the navigator of the ‘Wavemaker’, the second largest fishing
boat in the port of Navis. Gerald works very hard and as a mem-ber of the Rustican Commonfolk, he sometimes has problems
making ends meet. Thanks to Gerald’s captain, the family is able
to live in a small house in Navis village, which makes Gerald very
grateful and loyal to him. Gerald is a very honest and modest man and he is much appreciated by his friends for his sense of humour.

Gerald’s alarm goes off. He slips into his work
clothes, packs the sand-wiches prepared by
Margaret and leaves
for his walk to the port.
5 AM
Gerald arrives on the
Wavemaker’s deck. He and his fellow fishermen
are informed by the cap-tain about the daily route and sail off.
5.45 AM
After work, Gerald often spends an hour or two at one of the pubs
with his colleagues,
before he sets off
for home around 5 pm.
3.30 PM
Gerald enjoys dinner with his family and they play
a few card games to-gether before he and Margaret put the kids to bed at 7.30 pm.
5.30 PM
Gerald enjoys some more time with his wife, whitt-ling some new wooden
toys for the kids, before
he turns off the lights.
